Add Stock Charts from Yahoo! Finance to Your Home Page

Log into salesforce.com and Click Setup (from the upper right hand corner)

 

Go to Setup >  App Setup > Home > Home Page Components

 

Click on Home Page Components and click NEW

 

You may be prompted with an instructional page (below). Check the box for "Don't show again" and click next

Name the Component (Title that will appear on your home page) Select the HTML component

Click Next

Make sure to check the box for, "SHOW HTML" in the upper right hand corner. By default it will be turned OFF

 

Next, you will need the actual HTML code for the Yahoo! Charts.

* CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE FINANCIAL CHART HTML CODE *

- Open the page and click CTRL+A to highlight all the HTML text. Click CTRL+C to copy all the HTML.

- Navigate BACK to salesforce.com and from within the HTML text area, click CTRL+V to page the HTML code.

 

The Charts are now created and need to be added to the page layout. From the Setup Menu, click on Home Page Layouts

Click on a layout that will include the Financial Chart. (This could be ONE page or many pages depending on how many custom home pages you have for your users). Click EDIT and put a CHECKMARK inside your new Financial Chart Option

To view your financial charts, click on the HOME page.

The quotes included are NASDAQ, DOW and FTSE. If you want to update the quotes, you will need to change the HTML code.

Clicking on any of the charts from your home page will open up Yahoo! Stock Pages
