Publish your Solutions Knowledge Base to Your Customers

Solutions Knowledge Base Features can be found here.

Prepare your Solutions Knowledge Base for publishing. Log into salesforce.com. Click on the AppExchange Drop Down menu and select Service and Support. Click on the Solutions Tab to view your solutions home page

 

The best way to expose your solutions is with Categories. To enable Solution Categories, click on Setup > App Setup > Customize > Solutions > Solutions Categories. Create your categories and assign your solutions to them.

Next, enable the solutions knowledge knowledge base for "browsing". Click on Setup > App Setup > Customize > Solutions > Solutions Settings.

Click Edit and put a check mark in "Enable Solution Browsing".

Next, go to Setup > App Setup > Customize > Self-Service > Public Knowledge Base

Click EDIT and check the box for, "Public Knowledge Base Enabled" as well as "Enable Solution Browsing"

Click Save

Next, Click the "Generate HTML" Button

 

This will display the IFRAME used to frame the Knowledge Base on your website. Copy the HTML code and paste it into your Web Editor

 

Open a web editor such as Dreamweaver or Front Page, open your style sheet and paste the iFRAME within the page body

 

When in preview form, the Knowledge Base seems to be embedded into the webpage

 

 

When the page is published to your web server, the knowledge base is now live with both categories and searching capabilities
